Non executive Chairman
Nick Hewson MA FCA Nick is a graduate of Cambridge University (1981) and has spent over twenty years as a director of various public companies, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984. He was finance director of property developer and investor, Citygrove PLC, in the 1980's, floating the business on the then Unlisted Securities Market in 1986 and then obtaining a full listing on The London Stock Exchange in 1988 before leaving to join a colleague in co-founding the specialist retail warehouse property developer, Grantchester Holdings PLC, in 1990. Grantchester was listed in 1996. Following a takeover by Hammerson PLC in 2002, Nick has concentrated on growing other, often smaller businesses both in property and non-property sectors and has a particular interest in low carbon and carbon reduction initiatives in business. He has been an investor in Croma since the very early days of the Group's corporate life.
Executive Directors
Sebastian Morley is CEO of Croma Group Plc. He was originally appointed to the Board in February 2006 as an Executive Director. In July 2007 he assumed the role of Group CEO. He was educated at Eton and attended the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst. He was subsequently commissioned in The Black Watch with the rank of Captain, and undertook a period with the United Kingdom Special Forces where he held the rank of Major. He founded and sold two UK security companies before founding Vigilant. This hands on experience gives him a unique insight into the sector.
Gerald McGill B.A., C.A., aged 36, Executive Finance Director. Gerald is a graduate of Heriot Watt University (1993) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996. He is a partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants, Farries, Kirk and McVean based in Dumfries. He has been involved in advising Vigilant Security (Scotland) Ltd since they commenced to trade and advises many small and medium size enterprises in growing and developing their business.
James Sullivan. Executive Director. Appointed to the Croma Board in December 2008, Australian born James is a degree qualified Engineer and a Commercial Pilot with 20 years experience in the defence electronics sector. He has been involved in the development and testing of a variety of projects ranging from unmanned aircraft to airborne surveillance systems. James has spent the last 6 years with Croma subsidiary RDDS having been appointed as Managing Director in late 2004. James brings with him a wealth of insight into the technical aspects of Croma operations and has a long history of managing development projects for the UK MOD, European and North American Defence Contractors.
